There are no words to describe adequately the enormity of these attacks on
the United States or the depravity of these attacks on the United States or
the depravity of those who are responsible for them.
Clearly, the organization and magnitude of these attacks required more than
a few people to perpetrate. It will take some time to determine who they
are, and who has supported their attacks on the United States. But we will
find them out, and they will suffer the full, awesome measure of our
justice.
Until then, we can only pray for the victims and their families, remain
calm, and resolute, confident that America will never be cowed by
terrorists, no matter how awful their acts, no matter how depraved their
hearts.
These were not just crimes against the United States, they are acts of war.
We will prevail in this war, as we have prevailed in the past. May God
bless us in this trial, defend us, and make our justice swift and sure.
**********************
John McCain speaking about those who attacked the United States: "may God
have mercy on their souls, because we won't".

Uli and Anita,
Thanks for your concern. My boss was on his way to Washington yesterday,
but had to cancel. It was a sad day for the USA and really the whole free
world. But the American Spirit will shine as bright as ever in the coming
days. I am angry about the loss of innocent lives. Hopefully those
responsible will come to know the might of the U.S. military.
Ciao,
Patrick

Dear Uli and Anita,
Thank you for your message. We are all well, but also emotionally shaken up
and upset. Our offices were closed yesterday. Everyone is affected.

Lieber Uli, liebe Anita,
Danke!
Unglaublich, was ich da gestern miterlebt habe.
Euer Peter.

Betreff: How We Can Help

As our thought and prayers remain with the victims and families of the
recent acts of terror, the American people are left with many mixed
emotions. Many of the people that I have spoken with since Tuesday have
felt both a profound sense of patriotism and pride, coupled with tremendous
grief and sorrow. It is during these trying times that we as Americans
must stand with our heads and flags held high, and join together as a
country united. Thousands of people have asked, What can I do? One of
the things that we can, and must do, is to support one another through this
harrowing period. I have included in this e-mail the contact information
of various organizations offering support to those people that have been
directly affected by this horrific tragedy.
