to the third Pleinair open-air painting 1 to 10 Sept. 2002
in memory of Josef Heiss, Hotel Lago di Braies

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The third Pleinair will again be held at the Hotel Lago di Braies. In the
past, participants included artists and students from Berlin, Munich and
Vienna. We would also like to look forward to your participation.

A few thoughts about this invitation and the spirit of this Pleinair.

Every painter has some unfinished pictures. From Paul Cezanne we learned
that paintings do not necessarily have to be finished.

Something like that takes place at the Lago di Braies.

To start from scratch, just on white canvas or paper, finding inspiration,
encircling an idea.

To indicate a form by means of shadows and a whole through parts of it.

Just to be; relating to plants, rocks, and animals.

10 intensive days as guests in the Hotel Lago di Braies, by Caroline and
Heidi Heiss, charming and good friends of the arts.

al 3. Pleinair - convegno di pittura all´aperto - dal 1. al 10 settembre
2002 - in memoriam Josef Heiss - Hotel Lago di Braies a Braies (BZ)

Gentili Signore e Signori,

si svolgerà anche quest´anno presso l´Hotel Lago di Braies il 3. Pleinair.
Finora hanno partecipato artisti e studenti di arte pervenuti da Berlino,
Monaco e Vienna. Sarebbe un piacere poter contare sulla Vostra
partecipazione.

Di seguito alcuni pensieri sulla manifestazione:

- sicuramente di ogni pittore o pittrice esistono delle opere non ancora finite.
Di Cezanne sappiamo, che un opera non deve necessariamente essere finita in ogni dettaglio ...
- in questo modo si lavora al Lago di Braies;
- dipingere, partendo dal niente di una mestica o carta bianca, includere un qualcosa, trovare l´ispirazione;
- accennare la forma concreta con strisce indistinte ed un insieme con una parte di esso;
- essere semplici, parenti di pietre, piante ed animali;
- essere ospiti per dieci giorni intensivi all´albergo Lago di Braies delle affascinanti Carolina e Heidi Heiss, amanti dell´arte.
