Hello,
I show your work around in the Judo community,they all admire,but not order.How about trying to advertise on the I.J.F.web page,turning back some profit to them upon a sale,this way your wonderful work can get more exposure.The formal art world is pre-occupied with trying to make ends meet now as our economy is tight,and they are only dealing with artists who are well known.I have your catalog.Shall i hold on to them or return to you?

As i mentioned to you,i didnt go to the US open because of all the travel problems at that time.I plan to show your catalog Nov 18, at our State championship,then in Colorado springs at our National coach seminar.I have been showing it locally.I am giving your information,so people can get directly in touch with you if they wish.We have had a big distraction so you will need lots of time here. Yes,i believe i sent you an email to that effect a few weeks ago,maybe with all the chaos here it didnt go through,sorry about that.Next month im going to a show at the Miller gallery in NY and will show your work to some art friends.The people i showed it to in the Judo community thought it was wonderful.When i get a chance,im going to make a color copy of most of the work,have it laminated,then show it better in the NY Judo community as the paper is a little fragile being touched by many hands ,plus give them your direct email,so that if they want to make a purchase they can contact you.Best Regards Rusty.

Thank you for your concern,it is a nightmare here.My husband just went out to
get us face masks so we can breathe if we go out.We want to bring clothes to
the Red Cross and give blood.We are concerned about our children,the building
down the block from 7 world tade center is where our daughter works,in the
Federal building,she is a federal agent,Thank God,she was out of N.Y.on an
assignment,but her car is gone.Our Son is in the military and at an embassy
somewhere in the world.I heard from both of them,they are fine,but have now
lost many friends.I think we are all in shock.Germany will be a good alai to
the U.S.

Die Karate Bilder im Dia Show (auf weiss) sind ganz toll! Wow, action und
kunst. Tanzende linien statt gewalt. Aber mit viel energie die man spürt.
Das auge wird dazu gebracht die bewegung nach zu empfinden. Gleichzeitig
gibt es ein chronologie, man merk die instanz von zeit, wie bei photography
nur ein foto can nur ein instanz zeigen. Bei dir can man mehrere zeiträume
gleichzeitig erleben, wie cubismus, der mehr perspektiven gleichzeitig
zeigt.

The meaning of RAKU is that they are pleasant to be
peaceful [ the heart and the body ]. It means loving.
Moreover, it is also the name of a Japanese china. It has
the philosophical meaning of Japan.
Moreover, "DO=Path-way" means the thing of the way along
which people and a car pass. However, it is an ordinary
meaning.
The practice which searches for truth is meant in DO.
Since I was also doing Budo, it learned about DO in
various scenes. A martial art of Japan is not the
technique of fighting. It is practice of the heart. It is
the way where man lives.
Therefore, it is used like KARATE-DO, BUSHI-DO, and
JYU-DO. DO is language important for a Japanese.
The picture which Uli drew was seen. There is a motion
and I think that it is wonderful. How about drawing the
picture with which DO was expressed?

I felt DO as most in your picture is a Red circle. Light
?darkness, Justice&wrong, Sun&moon and Man & woman. An
opposite thing combines and harmony is produced. A circle
is the symbol of perfect harmony.
In fact, the straight punch of karate is also a motion of
a circle. Only circular motion can do man's joint.Motions
of a circle are collected and a motion of a straight line
is made.
Moreover, a suitable distance(space) is valued in Budo.
What controlled space obtains a victory. In this picture,
I think that Budo-space is expressed.

Hallo,

die Bilder gefallen mir gut, auch weil ich ein bisschen Bezug zu den Themen habe.

Ich habe über 10 Jahre sehr aktiv Taekwondo betrieben, leider habe ich seit
den letzten paar Jahren nicht mehr die Zeit gehabt so aktiv am Wettkampf
und Training teilzunehmen, so dass ich nur für die Kondition morgens Laufe
und ein bisschen Fitness mache. Aber es fehlt mir schon.

Die Bilder habe sehr viel Dynamik und viel von der Energie, ich spüre
dabei fast schon wieder ein bisschen die Matte und das Adrenalin...:-)
Gut gefallen hat mir z.B. "Watermoon" und einige der Bilder in der Slideshow,
wobei die keine Titel haben, so dass ich sie nicht benennen kann.

Interessant ist auch die Chicago Verbindung. Ich habe 2 1/2 Jahre in Chicago
gelebt und gearbeitet und liebe diese Stadt sehr, architektonisch und vom
allgemeinen Flair. Eine sehr kunstbewusste Stadt, die mir als Musiker und
Jazz-Fan viele tolle Konzerte geboten hat. Das Bild "Chicago Thanksgiving Day"
weckt da ebenfalls viele schöne Erinnerungen, an riesige Truthähne und
gemütliche Herbsttage im dann schon ganz schön kalten Chicago....:-)

Wolfgang Seehaus, Karlsfeld, 21. August 2002
Mit Uli sitze ich hier bei Kaffee und Gebäck zum Pressetermin. Gerade haben
wir gemeinsam seine Ausstellung angeschaut, die hier seit dem 16. Juli hängt
- Karate WM.
Dazu Keramiken von Dvora Krueger in Raku Technik. Beides für mich
begeisternd.
Die Zeichnungen von Uli transportieren den Betrachter (mich) richtig in die
Welt des Karate - je länger man sich damit beschäftigt um so mehr. Von so
tollen Arbeiten lasse ich mich gerne mitreißen. Auf das Du mich in Zukunft
auf so angenehme Art mitreißen wirst.
